USA 3 Honduras 2

I realized that I could not post the Argentina highlights and not post the US highlights. Honduras was 8-0 at home coming in to this game and the 3 goals the US scored tied the 3 goals scored in the previous 8 games combined. USA has clinched a spot in the 2010 World Cup at South Africa. The US team plays again Wednesday night at 8pm on ESPN2. If you can not make it out to our game against High Point then follow us on stat tracker over at High Point's athletics' page under men's soccer in the schedule are results section, while you watch the US game.

Argentina 2 Peru 1 German Highlights

A very interesting game and some late game heroics.

Wofford 0 NCSU 2

A write up can be found by following the link in the title above.

Thanks to all the friends and family who came out Tuesday night to support the Terriers. After a sloppy first ten minutes we believe that we showed that we can play with the best teams in the nation. Hats off to a quality NC State team who put the ball in the back of the net and handed us our first loss of the season. We have a short interlull of 8 days were we get rested and rejuvenated to play 2 more out of conference games and the remaining 5 in conference games. Our next game is Wednesday 10/14 at High Point. Our next home game is the following Sunday 10/18, when we take on the reigning SoCon regular season Champions Elon. Remember that only the top 4 teams out of 8 from Conference this year have the opportunity to compete in the Conference tournament. We are currently ranked tied for third.

Nick Schuermann was a finalist for conference player of the month, the award ended up going to Davidson's Alex Caskey.

Wofford 2 UNCG 2

Click the title for a full write up.

We played to a 2-2 tie tonight against the Spartans from UNCG. We stared off the scoring at the 14th minute mark on a one time volley from Kentrell Owens who was played in behind on a wonderful chip by Yakov Rubinchik. The second goal came around the 30 minute mark off a cross from Moe Kellie that then bounced around the box. After a few shots and a couple by Wilson Hood, Branson Hyatt found himself on the end of a Greensboro save and finished the opportunity to make it 2-0 Wofford. UNCG made it 2-1 7 minutes in to the second halve. After a couple chances by both teams, Greensboro found themselves on the end of a second service that turned into a flick header that tied the score at 2-2.

We are proud of the boys for some exciting and quality soccer and look forward to our next game, away against NC State on Tuesday night.
